Going to get the Tree...

The day after Thanksgiving it was COLD and windy and I really think that everyone would have been happy to just stay home, play cards and watch a fire, but I had it in my head that THIS YEAR we could go get our tree with both sets of GRANDPARENTS...I mean, really, how often does anyone get to go to a tree farm with the grandparents?

So, they all humored me and we all loaded up and drove out to a family-owned tree farm near our house. Of course, the kids all picked out different trees, but we finally compromized and decided on a beautiful one in the living room. I really enjoyed the day and the time seeing the family all together!

With a thankful heart

I am taking a moment during the crazy few days before Thanksgiving to remind myself why I am bustling around getting the house CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN and the laundry done and the photo cards ordered and the mittens and stocking stuffers bought....and of course your list and mine are dreadfully long, aren't they?? I know that I am doing these things because I have a THANKFUL heart!
I want the house clean so that when my mom finally gets to be here, I can sit down and really enjoy her visit! When Granddaddy Harrell is being drug all over to play with the kids, he can actually move around the house with out fear (okay, without too much fear!) I am THANKFUL that they are on their way and that we are all healthy and ALIVE and that they get to come see us!
I am THANKFUL that we survived the H1N1 virus, strep and multitudes of other things this year to get to this point....and I just want the next month to be a time of reflection on all that GOD has done for us this year. We have been so BLESSED!

Fall is in the air....

It is that time of the year again. I bought some Christmas fabric last week and then yesterday someone dear to me asked about a Christmas dress for her daughter. So, naturally, I thought it was time to brush off the Christmas Blog and get going on some of the Thurman Christmas going on's! We will begin the countdown to Christmas a little earlier this year, in hopes that I will have everything ready and paid for by Christmas time!
I do have 3 presents purchased. I am not telling who they are for, but I do know that each of them will be happy with them! :)
